Call for Papers: “Parties, elections and new ideological challenges in Europe”

Activity
In the last decade, the classical political scene of the 1970s-1980s-1980s changed, in some cases dramatically. Beside the electoral results of the UKIP and of other populist/eurosceptic parties in the recent years, even in the mainstream political areas where once Social Democrats or Conservatives dominated things changed. Call for Papers: ”EU’s 2030 Framework for climate and energy. Towards a more vigorous governance process?”

Activity
CALL FOR PAPERS On-line Journal Modelling the New Europe, no. 22/2017 ”EU’s 2030 Framework for climate and energy. Towards a more vigorous governance process?” Since the second half of the 1980s, climate change and energy security have taken center stage in European and international politics. The EU has established itself as a front-runner on world stage on climate change and has meanwhile considerably improved its leadership profile. In contrast, although energy has been central to the European project from its beginnings, it proved unable to develop into an established and coherent common energy policy. In recent years, climate policy has helped energy policymaking on the EU level become more substantial as it became clear that EU’s moral leadership in fighting climate change has failed to mobilize other key players into taking…
