Between the 20th and the 23rd of November 2011, Professor Păun participated in an international exchange activity organised by the Europe Direct Network, as coordinator of the European Documentation Centre (EDC) of the Babeș-Bolyai University. This visit was reserved for EDC representatives from the 16 Centres active across Romania and is part of the annual training programmes hosted under the patronage of the European Commission’s Representation in Romania. The purpose of this activity was to share best practice examples by both the Romanian and the Italian EDC Networks, in order to enhance partnerships and future common endeavours meant to further the dissemination of information pertaining to the European Union in the academic and business environments.
The visit consisted of a series of workshops which took place at the University of Bocconi (Milan), Università degli Studi di Milano, and the University of Verona and benefitted from the participation of the coordinator of the Italian EDC Network, Ms. Isolde Quadranti, as well as that of numerous coordinators at the University level. Professor Păun, as spokesperson of the Romanian EDC Network, delivered several presentations, some in the form of slides, so as to shed light on the current projects, collaborations and challenges of the Network, which fostered constructive debates on opportunities for common actions. Moreover, he had a significant number of meetings with professors from the three Universities, with the aim of establishing reliable connections for future projects within and beyond the EDC Network (with regard to research, teaching and evaluation).
The outcome of this visit was much appreciated by both the Italian and the Romanian coordination teams of the Europe Direct Networks and remains a useful step in the consolidation of this ambitious international project, in which Professor Păun will continue to play an active
